Welcome to Balanced Literacy Enjoying Early Reading (BLEER training Ltd)

Are you here because you are a parent or teacher, looking to enrich your literacy resources for primary aged children?

My name is Angela Lee and I have been a Reading Specialist for over 20 years. I am passionate about raising achievement in Early Literacy in a child centred enjoyable manner. In order to achieve this I established a training company 8 years ago for parents and schools, providing opportunities to use and enjoy a wide range of literacy resources and programmes. BLEER Training can provide a range of reading to learn programmes and resources from a variety of partners. As well as a lovely range of decodable texts to complement the ‘letters and sounds’ phonic programme.

Our Methodology

We employ 2 approaches. PiLT (Playing in Literacy Themes) is designed for Reception and the WiNC (Writing in the National Curriculum) programme is for Keystage. Both programmes have been created to support and compliment most school’s chosen "Phonic Reading Spine". It has a strong focus on oracy and themes, making links not only to the child’s experience and voice but their play and understanding of pictures and print. The programmes are influenced by Bruner’s three modes of learning: Play (enactive), Picture (iconic) and Print ( symbolic).

PiLT

Playing in Literacy Themes (P.i.L.T.) has elements and characters from texts, which are familiar and complimentary to a range of reading and Library books you will already be using in the reception classroom. [Read more]

WiNC

Writing in the National Curriculum ( WiNC) is a home school programme which continues the good principles of PiLT, but at a higher level and with further cross Curriculum links to other areas such as Science, and Humanities. [Read more]
